Hi there, I’m Allison!
(She/They)
I’m a queer and non-binary actor, voice-actor, and musician, on a mission to spread as much joy as humanly possible! I believe in the power of story and laughter to connect us, and to help us heal, which is why I do what I do.
I have degrees in music and theatre from Valparaiso University and I’m a graduate of Second City’s Music Improv Conservatory. I bring my comedic timing, improv training, and musical abilities to each project I am a part of.
I adore creating new work, in fact, I’ve music directed 10+ New Musicals devised by students at my alma mater. Each year I help a class of 100 honors students write, compose, and perform a brand new musical, and it feels like magic every time!
If you need someone quirky, playful, and vulnerable to make your project pop, I’m your person!
If you need someone who can sing, swing from a trapeze, and play 4 different instruments, that is also me! (I train in circus and aerial arts at The Actors Gymnasium in Evanston.)
I’m a total goofball and I bring that sense of play and curiosity to my work whether I am creating a wild voiceover character or working on a raw, honest scene.
But don’t just take it from me: Broadway World describes me as having “doe-eyed sincerity” and the Chicago Tribune describes my voice as “sweet”, “…Joni Mitchell, with a dash of Ani DiFranco.”
I’m also an experienced host, having hosted Red Carpet premieres and events for Cinequest’s “Cinejoy” Film Festival, LA Femme Film Festival, and GTV Gaming TV Network, and the founder of “The Joyful Actor” which offers acting and music lessons to students of all ages with an emphasis on joy, play, and curiosity.
Thanks for dropping by! Feel free to send me a message any time if you’d like to collaborate, I can’t wait to meet.
